Director of Software Engineering - VOIP

Position Description:
We are looking for a highly trained technical Director of Software who can drive technical projects and provide leadership to a dynamic team of engineers developing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Software for the ICAD range of multiservice access routers.
Responsibilities
-Plan, execute and ensure the overall success of Voice Software projects
-Supply strong technical leadership and supervise the design and development of new features
-Enlist and retain top talent; motivate, mentor and coach team members
-Work with team to generate complete, functional design specifications
-Head design and code reviews and provide feedback to team
-Supply hands-on assistance with the development of new features and problem resolution as needed.
-Collaborate with customers as needed to understand technical requirements and to address queries.
-Participate in evaluation of new technologies and tools and make recommendations for adoption into product line
Position Qualifications:
-BSEE/CS and 10 or more years of experience; 5+ years of relevant experience managing large, fast-paced and dynamic engineering teams. MSEE/CS preferred
-Entrepreneurial drive and proven ability to meet aggressive goals
-Knowledge of VoIP concepts, protocols, network architectures and devices/components
-Proven software design and development background
-Knowledge of processes required for delivering high quality software consistently
-Strong project management skills
-Availibility to work in an informal startup-up environment and strike the right balance between the needs of the team and those of the organization
Preferred Technical Skills
-Languages – C programming for embedded systems
-Operating Systems – VxWorks, Linux
-Technologies – VoIP (Firewall/NAT Traversal, ALG, UA, Codecs), Traditional telephony (FXS, FXO, T1, E1, ISDN-PRI)
-Protocols – SIP, MGCP, RTP/RTCP, UDP, TCP/IP
-Applications and Devices – VoIP Gateway, IAD, Session Border Controller, IP-PBX
-Knowledge of Voice call control state machines and flows
Desired Technical Skills
-VoIP Security – TLS, DTLS, SRTP
-Applications – Video over IP, Presence and Instant Messaging
-Tools – Network sniffers such as Ethereal/Wireshark and TCPdump
