VoIP Network Engineer
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and perform the installation and configuration of Cisco VoIP infrastructures, including voice gateways, 802.3af (POE) switches, firewalls, Cisco Unity Voicemail (with Failover), wireless 7920 series phones, and configure end-to-end QOS on the VoIP network.
Maintain and troubleshoot VoIP networks
Able to provide admin and user training for all aspects of Cisco VoIP systems; including telephone handset training and voicemail features to the end users.
Document network layout and design
Be on call and respond to client network outages efficiently, as needed
Assist team members with projects as needed; pre-sales & post-sales support required
This individual will be diligent, methodical, and organized with an appreciation for mission-critical service delivery
Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills, ability to write clear & concise project reports
Qualifications
5+ years experience in Information Technology & Telecommunications
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Must have customer-facing experience in pre- and post-sales roles
Experience with multiple technology vendors such as Cisco, Avaya, Meru, Ascom, Sonicwall, Alcatel, 3Com.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ACLs, 802.1x RADIUS, Intrusion Prevention, VPN, and EIGRP.
Diverse firewall/router background: Cisco, Tippingpoint, Sonicwall
Practical knowledge of 802.11 wireless networking
Wiring infrastructure experience and cabling plant exposure a plus
Able to manage multiple priorities and meet all deadlines
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proven troubleshooting skills
Experience with Microsoft operating systems and Office applications
Strong customer service demeanor

· Cisco Certified Voice Professional CCVP
· Cisco Certified Security Professional CCSP (not required)
· Cisco Certified Network Professional CCNP
· Cisco Certified Design Professional CCDP (not required)
· Cisco Certified Network Associate CCNA
· Cisco Certified Design Associate CCDA
· Cisco IP Contact Center Express Specialist
