VOIP Operations Engineer
Job Description:
Primary Function:
The VOIP Operations Engineer is responsible for provisioning, managing, and supporting Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) services. Candidate must have experience with VOIP service providers and BroadSoft’s BroadWorks platform.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VOIP services
· Work with customer services to resolve customer issues
· Test call flows
· Run evaluation test cases for IAD certification
· Participate in planning, implementation, and documentation activities
· Ability to clearly articulate ideas, concepts, and service issues
· Interface with vendor groups to ensure proper escalation during degraded system performance and status of network problems, resolutions and events that impact system availability
Scope of Responsibility:
· Provision Broadworks users and services
· Troubleshoot VOIP related issues
· Troubleshoot VOIP provisioning issues
· Learn and understand complex integration between VOIP, TDM, and cellular infrastructure
Minimum Requirements:
Education: BA/BS required (or equivalent work experience)
Work Experience: Required one (1) year of experience in and maintaining IP telephony system and infrastructure
Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Current BroadWorks knowledge
Experience with Cisco Call Manager, SIP IADs, IP telephones, and other SIP-related services
Basic understanding of voice configurations and protocols including H323, MGCP, TDM, PRI, ISUP, etc.
