Position Summary:
The Business VoIP Implementation Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of the customer experience as they move through the Speakeasy Business VoIP Implementations process, from contract signing to installation and customer acceptance. This is a new and important offering for Speakeasy, and as such, responsibilities of this position will grow and change as necessary during its evolution.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Configuring and supporting Speakeasy’s VoIP solution.
Managing customers through the Business VoIP Implementations process, including creating and maintaining a project plan for each customer.
Documenting installation steps and progress in Moses
Documenting additional aspects of VoIP installation schedule via Visio, Microsoft Project, etc., such as customer LAN topology.
Working with various vendors to ensure smooth installation, including Vital Network Services, New Global Telecom, Level(3), Covad, Edgewater Networks, etc.
Potentially traveling to customer locations to perform installations and/or LAN analysis.
Maintaining regular contact with customers to attain necessary information and provide updates on progress.
Configuring CPE such as VoIP desk phones, ATAs, soft phones, T1 routers, and SIP proxy devices, including advanced routing concepts.
Provisioning and maintaining user profiles using a third-party vendor web portal.
Coordinating and forming solid working relationships with other departments, including Sales, Product/Marketing, Activations, etc.
This position requires the following skills and experience:
Advanced working knowledge of networking, WAN and LAN concepts.
Working knowledge of Voice over IP technology.
6-12 months meeting or exceeding expectations as a PTA, DBM or Activations Specialist.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain strict professionalism in all client communication.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple contacts and tasks.
Ability to keep a regular and consistent work schedule.
Mastery of all of Speakeasy’s services, products, and offerings.
6-12 months project management experience.
6-12 months experience configuring end user DSL/T1 routers.
