VOIP Device Requirements Manager

Responsibilities

GENERAL SUMMARY

This key technology role to be filled within Verizon Wireless Device Requirements organization will give the Wired HW/SW, Bluetooth and WiFi Device Requirements Manager a very unique opportunity to evolve Verizon Wireless wired VOIP, FIOS, DECT, Ethernet, USB, POTS, wireless Bluetooth and WiFi device requirements and device test plans. In this role, you will be working with members of core technology/business teams at Verizon and Verizon Wireless to help drive these key implementation initiatives. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Manage and drive multiple highly complex device requirements projects that involve key Verizon Wireless device and service launches.

2.Drive/Lead large cross functional teams to generate service descriptions, use cases, technical feasibility analysis to develop wired VOIP, FIOS, DECT, Ethernet, USB, POTS device requirements and compliance test plans.

3.Drive solutions to ensure wired VOIP, FIOS, DECT, Ethernet, USB, POTS, wireless Bluetooth and WiFi is consistently implemented across devices, working with device vendors, application developers, Verizon landline technology experts, Bluetooth and WiFi experts and Verizon network teams.

4.Drive automated test plan generation guaranteeing a consistent and stable implementation for these technologies across all devices by supporting the Verizon network device evaluation team

5.Develop and manage wired HW/SW application device requirements to support new applications, services, and network enhancements offered to Verizon Wireless customers working closely with device vendors, application developers, Verizon Wireless and Verizon IT and network teams.

6.Manage application test plan generation for services associated with these technologies with Verizon IT and network teams.

7.Define the application certification and testing process associated with these technologies that the device vendors and the application developers will execute to ensure timelines to launch devices are not compromised.

8.Work closely with the User Experience team to support developing a common user experience across all applications offered within the devices.

9.Manage reviews for wired VOIP, FIOS, DECT, Ethernet, USB, POTS, wireless Bluetooth and WiFi device requirements and compliance test plans across cross-functional teams in Verizon and Verizon Wireless device, network, IT, marketing, segmentation and user experience teams.

10.Responsible for identifying actions item during reviews and driving them to closure.

11.Manage teams through all phases of updates to wired HW/SW, wireless Bluetooth and WiFi device requirements and test plans as the service evolves.

12.Responsible for escalating to the senior team any critical impacting issues associated with devices supporting wired HW/SW, wireless Bluetooth and WiFi device requirements, test plans and associated device applications.

13.Responsible for supporting and providing feedback to all other device requirements and test plan reviews conducted by the teams.

14.Responsible for working with team members to include any wired VOIP, FIOS, DECT, Ethernet, USB, POTS, wireless Bluetooth and WiFi related updates needed in documents managed by the team members.

15.Responsible for testing devices, fixes, new services and products that the team is supporting.

16.Responsible for administration of the device requirements Microsoft Sharepoint portal.

17.Responsible for managing access for device documents for internal employees and external vendors.

18.Responsible for uploading updated documents to the Microsoft Sharepoint portal for all quarterly releases.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·6-8 years product development background

·3-5 years wired HW/SW (VOIP, FIOS, DECT, Ethernet, USB), Bluetooth and WiFi development experience

·3-5 years Wireless/Telecommunications/Internet experience

·2 years experience with CDMA, GSM technology and device technologies

·Design experience in developing voice/data handset devices

·Demonstrated track record in process execution, development, and deployment of products and new technologies.

·Demonstrated Proficiency in Project Management tools and techniques

·Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Programs

·Technical leadership and Excellent troubleshooting skills.

·Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills

·Excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communications skills

·Excellent judgment and the ability to handle escalated situations.

·Proven ability to build relationships across the organization and work independently

·Proven ability to undertake multiple initiatives simultaneously is highly desired

·High enthusiasm towards learning about new wireless products, devices and technology trends

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

·Education: BS degree in EE or CS; MS preferred

·Certifications: Professional Project Management certification or equivalent work experience

·Other: MBA or equivalent work experience
